Schools

A school is an organized educational institution designed to offer learning opportunities and learning spaces for children under the supervision of qualified teachers. Almost all developed countries have formal educational systems, which may be required for eligibility for child care or kindergarten. In these systems, children progress through a sequence of primary, secondary and tertiary schools. The main aim of such systems is to create conditions that encourage learning in an environment that encourages creativity and responsibility within the students.

In the United States, there are several types of primary and secondary schools, all of which may be attended on a full-time or part-time basis. In the United Kingdom, there are two main types of secondary schools – the elementary school and the junior secondary school. In the United States, the most common form of secondary school in the United States is the junior high school. A large proportion of United Kingdom children attend one of two selective primary or secondary public or private colleges, the rest attending vocational schools, the country’s equivalent of a junior college. In some cases, both vocational schools and colleges offer specialized post-high school education.

A number of countries, including the United States, have special or vocational schools, which may provide education for people with limited abilities or other needs. In the United States, a large number of these schools are church-based. Such schools, especially those accredited by the United States Department of Education, are especially important for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The term school can mean several different things, and there are many different levels and types of schools, from elementary schools to universities, colleges and universities. Some of the most common forms of secondary schooling include: primary school, junior high school, secondary school, college, university or technical school, and technical college.
