Define Travel Meaning

Travel is the moving of individuals between different geographical locations. Travel can take place by car, plane, train, bicycle, foot, bus, plane, boat or any other mode, with or without personal luggage, to get to a particular destination. There are many modes of transport by which people can travel – trains, airplanes, boats, buses, trains, cabs, shuttles, taxis, motor-carriers, taxicabs, luxury cars, trucks, buses, vans, railroads and monorail systems are only some of the modes of travel. Travel time may vary depending on the mode of travel chosen. The cost of travel also varies depending on the mode of travel chosen.

People travelling from one place to another place prefer long distance travel rather than short distance travel. For example, if someone wants to travel from one city to another city, he/she will need to take a plane or a train to get there. Similarly, when it comes to travelling from one country to another country, people will need a sea or an air journey to reach that country. Similarly, people will have to take a bus or train to reach their destination.

We can conclude that ‘traveling’ means a person going from one place to another place. Now let us define travel meaning for those who do not travel, i.e., those who do not travel whether by land, sea or air. For them, when someone says, I am travelling, what I really mean is that I am visiting.
